Feedback for my iDVD project:

- Change the colour of the highlighted colour throughout the DVD

- Put my contact details on every page

- Change the font

- Make the font bigger

Overall I am very happy with this feedback as they are all minor comments that can be changed with ease. I changed all of them except the comment on the highlighted colour. As they are all minor comments this leads me to believe that my DVD is almost perfect for my intended use of sending it to potential employers to showcase my talent using Pro Tools and Logic in order to get work.

In my personal opinion I think my DVD shows my skills in the way I would like it to. The look and feel of the DVD is professional and portrays me in a good light for future employers. If I was to change anything it would be the template for the DVD. I chose the template I have as it was the best one available to me at the time, but if I had the resources I would use DVD Pro, which is a piece of software that comes with Final Cut Pro and I would have made a custom menu system for my DVD to make me stand out from the rest. I also think that the DVD is more than ok to send to an employer, which is its intended use. I think that if I was an employer and was sent the promotional pack I would definitely give it the time of day as it is all of a professional standard.

Feedback for my business cards:

- Basic design is good as its simple and to the point

- Writing needs to be bigger

- Really good modern design

- Doesn’t fit in with my career

- Slogan would work better if I was a company

Overall I am happy with the feedback I have been given for my business cards as there is only a couple of negative comments and the person that said that still thought it was a good design and looked modern.

What I think is good about them is that it says my name, my career and gives my contact details in a clear and orderly fashion. The writing is clear and easy to read, the picture, in my opinion, gives off to people that I live quite a fast paced life, which every producer does, so although it doesn’t link directly to music I still think it works really well. I agree somewhat with the comment about the slogan, because it does sound like a company’s slogan, but I wanted to put something on there that will make client’s and employers that I’m professional and also that my work is affordable.

I think that my business cards definitely live up to the expectations of their intended use, which is to hand to people in the industry, possible clients and to also include in the promotional pack I will be sending to employers.

Feedback for my covering letter:

- Take out the sentence about the studio’s website

- It’s very good, to the point and really gives an insight to who you are

- It shows you are a polite, honest person

I am happy with this feedback as it is all good comments about my covering letter, apart from the first comment, which I took the advice and took out that sentence as I agreed it did seem like I was too keen to work at the studio and maybe that I wanted it too much, which could potentially put employers off.

In my opinion my covering letter says exactly what I want it to say. It says that I am a polite young producer seeking work and on the flip side it also says about my skills on both Pro Tools and Logic. Also I think that by putting that I am fluent in both DAWs it shows I am also diverse, which is what employers want out of their employees as it shows that I can adapt. Again, in my opinion, I can’t think of anything else I can put in the letter, I think its perfect for its intended use, which is to give the employer an insight to who I am and what I do and also tell them a little about my talent showcase DVD.
